Important Copyright Information

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

Tulsa City-County Library reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

Interlibrary Loan Postage Cost Recovery Fee

To request an item through Interlibrary Loan you must agree to the Postage Cost Recovery Fee:

• You will be charged $1.00 for each item obtained on your behalf through Interlibrary Loan (with the exception of photocopies which are assessed the standard fee of 10 cents per page).
• The $1.00 fee helps to offset increased U.S. Postal Service costs for returning items to the lending libraries.

Responsibility for proper return of ILL materials

Agree to timely return of materials borrowed through Interlibrary Loan:

• Requesting an interlibrary loan on your ILL account comes with the responsibility of returning acquired materials in a timely manner, with all pieces intact and in good condition.
• Items are due on the date determined by the lending library and is shown on the yellow transit label. Requests for renewals must be made before the due date directly with the Interlibrary Loan department at TCCL.
• Items that are overdue may be subject to replacement charges and non-refundable fees assessed from the lending library. Customer is responsible for payment of said fees as assessed by the ILL department.
• Postal recovery fees, replacement charges, and proper return of ILL materials are the sole responsibility of the customer.
